New Google Analytics Interface Launched

First it was the Google Feedburner and then was Google Adsense, now it is Google Analytics – Google is on a release spree. Google announced the launch the new Google Analytics interface today and you may switch to the new interface if you liked it.

In 2009, Google came up with the feature called Engagement Goals to track success metrics around visit depth and time on site. With the new version of Google Analytics, they have added one more: Event Goals. As per Google, this was one of our most requested features, and it gives you even more reason to use event tracking.

You can use Event Tracking in Google Analytics to track visitor actions that don’t correspond directly to page views. It’s a great fit for tracking things like:

  • Downloads of a PDF or other file
  • Interaction with dynamic or AJAX sites
  • Interaction with Adobe Flash objects, embedded videos, and other media
  • Number of errors users get when attempting to checkout
  • How long a video was watched on your site

You can find the official release page on the Google BlogSpot. If you are a regular G Analytics user, login quick, check the same and let me know your opinion. If you are not yet using G Analytics, what are you waiting for?  Have a great day!
