How to connect your YouTube Channel with a Google Plus Page
Branding a YouTube Channel has become easier with the new capability of connecting your YouTube channel with a Google+ Fan page / Brand page. This allows you to not only completely brand your YouTube channel, but also to change your YouTube “Channel Name” to what you want to. Below are the steps to connect / link your YouTube channel with a Google Plus page.
Step 1: Login to your YouTube Account (Channel account)
Step 2: Click on the “Settings tab” as shown in the below screenshot
Step 3: Further, Click on the “Advanced” link as shown in the below screenshot
Step 4: Click on the “Connect with a Google+ Page” link as shown in the below screenshot
Step 5: You will further be asked to select your Google+ Page to connect to. This will include all the Google+ Pages that you own and also give you an option to enter any other name of your choice, if you want to give it a custom name. I am going ahead to select the Google+ Page that has been created for this YouTube channel. Select your page of choice (to link with) and click on next.
Step 6: On Selecting the option “AmazingIndia.tv” Google+ Page, my channel name will get re-branded from” joshuthomas” to “AmazingIndia.tv”. Finally, YouTube gives you a confirmation message as seen below. Allowing you to change this linked page in the next 14 days, post which it would not be able to be changed (I guess).
Complete: Below is the screenshot of the “re-branded” channel video page. Observed the highlighted area (yellow) where the channel name has been changed to the name of the Google+ page. It has now become a unique brand name from the earlier username (joshuthomas). Even though the Youtube channel URL remains the same, it is hidden from the normal users and they get to see the channel as “AmazingIndia.tv”.

This article has been updated as per the latest procedure from Google and Google Plus in the year 2013. Branding is one of the advantages of connecting your YouTube channel to your Google+ Page, there are several other advantages as well. If you have not yet created a brand page and connected your YouTube account with the Google+ page, do it ASAP. Not sure how long this feature would be active, but this is one Must do setup if you are serious about your YouTube channel.
